This one is hard to explain.
The Gorilla shop made friends with Hal Samples, a photographer/videographer based in Dallas, best known for his work with the Polyphonic Spree and the Black Angels, who was in Edinburgh with the play, The Room in the Elephant. The Room in the Elephant is a play written about a man named Tachowa- who lived in a water tank in Los Angeles, which was subsequently tagged by Banksy, and thus Tachowa was evicted from his residence. Banksy has tried to make amends- you can read about that here. Part of that involves this play that was 5/5 stars and sold out throughout it's run, by a Bristol theatre company. At the end of the festival, Tachowa took his first flight ever and landed straight at my house. He performed a piece in the Gorilla Showcase and met the people who had written a play about him, met the actor who played him, who had never before communicated with eachother. A special Charlie Kaufmanesque evening, with lots of street artists (ahem), theatre goers, and interesting people all around.
